Peptides and Apoptosis: Insights into Disease Mechanisms
>
Apoptosis is one of the key regulation mechanisms of body’s cellular composition sustaining homeostasis and normal functioning of tissues and organs. The disruption of this process can result in developing of various diseases, including cancer. Therefore, the study of apoptosis and its regulation is an urgent task for understanding the mechanisms of disease development and discovering new methods of therapy.
The new lecture considers the role of short peptides in regulating apoptosis protein synthesis, as well as effectiveness of various peptide bioregulators in prevention and treatment of certain diseases.
The scientific lecture is prepared by Natalia Linkova:
- Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor:
- Head of Laboratory of Molecular Mechanisms of Ageing in Saint-Petersburg Institute of bioregulation and gerontology
- Leading researcher in research laboratory of drug delivery system developing in Saint-Petersburg Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation
- Author of more than 400 scientific publications
